I saw very few little ones in costume in my neighborhood, which was a disappointment. It looked like the kids even as young as 10 or so thought they were too cool for costumes, so there were like five tweens in regular clothes for every little Spiderman or princess.

In Morocco we saw a number of sexy djellabas--hot pink with black trim, and the tassel on the hood thrown down the back swayed in counterpoint to the wearer's hips.

I read an article ages ago, maybe in Salon, in which Moroccan women at the baths were comparing their really nice undergarments.
The other day on the train a kid (about 8-ish) was talking with his dad about superheros. The kid asked, "Why do superheros always put their hands on their hips?"
