We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Do you live in a palace? If not, I vote no.

Well, there's a good chance they'll be staying with my sister, as she has more room, but it's just stressful, frankly. They stayed with me for ten days in June and I was fit to be tied by day 3. Much of it has to do with my mother, who has multiple health issues and yet will not eat healthy, despite repeated directives from her doctors about whole grains, cutting back on dairy and fats, and so forth.

And now my sister's got a new very stressful job, with a lot of extra hours, so she's not going to be jazzed about having them stay for very long. I did tell them that three weeks may be too much, but they need to talk to her. Because I'm all about passing the buck.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

There's a major clusterfuck with the computers at work. I'll have to go into work later tonight.

Oh, ugh. That definitely sucks.

It sounds like it! Man, I love my parents and generally have a good time with my family, but I'm still coming back from Thanksgiving on Saturday because four days in a row is PLENTY.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I really want to try that CI pie crust. It's pretty close to my standby crust, proportionally (I do some amount of flour, half that of whatever fat I'm using and half that of water) though I think it's got sugar and I don't use any at all and all of that putting some in th efoood processor and then doing something else sounded awfully complicated. I do have a consistent problem with rolling out, so if the vodka helps with that I will be thrilled.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm at work now. This really blows.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

This really blows.

And not in a good way, it sounds.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That really does Tom. I hope it gets settled soon.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

anybody want to post a recipe for the pie crust?

hip deep in pie

I'm at work now. This really blows.

Seriously.

Pie is out of oven. I put egg white on the crust, which caused it to brown maybe too much. I won't have anything more to report until it cools.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My previous pie crust recipe was from CI--I think it's why I signed up at cooksillustrated.com on Betsy's recommendation. Took more muscle than any I'd used before, but that fucker was flakey good. If they think this one is better, that's pretty cool.
