A question of no urgency but my own curiosity: what's the difference between hits and visitors in that table ita posted? What is each counting? Because I've heard those terms used interchangeably.

One visitor can have many hits. One visit can have many hits.
Karl, for sucking I have nothing formal in place, but a sequence of mini-hacks that takes about 10 minutes to result in something like this archived natter thread [LARGE].
Thanks ita. That makes much sense.
My husband's writing a threadsucker; the main drawback is that you have to run it on the server. Will advise.
We don't need one, really! With access to the database, and the ability to show all the posts in a thread, all I have to do is tweak some code to leave out the links, and to drop the posting box.
Maybe this weekend.
Is that something that people could use to suck the thread on thier own, or for archival purposes? It sounds like some people are in the habit of sucking it to read it.
Yeah, people suck.

I'm thinking of a page where you can put in start and end post numbers and get the flat version of that thread fragment delivered to your browser.
That would be faaaabulous, ita.
I love the internet -- it told me that it would take 48 hours to propogate the forwarding of .com and .net to here, but at least for me, it works already! SO FUN!
