Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

JZ, yes it might. I've got Sunday open. Bless.

Let's do it!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

juliana, EXCELLENT. I'll be around all Sunday afternoon and evening from 4:00 on. Hec may be out much of the time working on the book, but I'm around.

That goes for Emily and Lee, too, btw. They just have to agree to set a portion of the visit aside for the ritual cursing of juliana's eeevul job.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Fever

1) I am not surprised that the fever is back - they often come back in the afternoon 2) I take baths when I have a fever, It gives me a chance to feel more comfortabel - not too hot or too cold 3) my doctor said 104 - not bad for an adult unless it persists . For a child that is very bad.

Complaining We spent part of the morning trying to define complaining at the cafe. Hard. anything that goes mememe and talking about it adds to your negative feelings is a complaint. yelling at some one cutting you off - not a complaint. spending a bunch of time talking about the bad drivers - a complaint

For DH, he can get into the negative sprial space . for me some times I don't talk enough about things. I find sometimes it is better for me to talk until I start boreing myself.

What is even happening?

S's temp is now down to 101.4. Still not great, but much better.

I like to think of that as a good fever. High enough to indicate the immune system is fighting the germs, low enough that it's not freak out zone.

Actually, little ones tend to spike high fevers, and I know Chris seemed way less sick at 103.9 than Ben did. Some kids have seizures when their temp spikes though, so maybe that's what he was talking about. 104 is high for everyone, though. Doctors tend to freak less about fevers than us mundanes, but they're not the ones who are sick, or giving the active care to the sick person.

Ferbile seizures, is what they're called, I think. My sister had them once. Generally, during Lillian's babyhood, we've been told not to really worry unless it hits 104, and not to bother with Tylenol unless it hits 102.

Yes, they are. My cousin's daughter used to get them, but she had a really quirky thermostat, and would get them at like 101 (which is extremely unusual).

I don't usually give them Tylenol or Motrin unless their temp is 101 or greater, unless they're feeling crappy. If they're feeling crappy, the medicine does help them feel better. 102 isn't that high for a toddler, really.

I give it when it's demanded, because it's only demanded when teeth are hurting her.

Then it's an order: "MEDICINE!!!"

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I think I forgot to bracket Sean and S. And much bracketing for juliana.

God, I hate those. "Ma'am, your goiter sounds completely fascinating, but 1) I don't care and 2) It's fucking gross. Now, can I help you with something?"

Just one part of the what seemed like hour and a half phone call went like this.

Me: When can you come in?
Her: Well I don't know because I've been under the weather you can probably hear my voice right now I think I caught it going out to that class last Saturday because it was soooo windy and it was early in the morning so I'd just washed my hair and I think that got me sick I went to the doctor yesterday maybe day before yesterday no wait it was yesterday because day before yesterday was Sunday and I couldn't have gone then wait what's today oh thats right its Wednesday so it could have been day before yesterday and anyway he said I may have an upper respiratory infection but whatever it is it feels awful with the rattling cough and I think I have a fever....

I don't know what she said after that because I shot my face off.

Hee. She's such a big shot, all verbal and whatnot. I loved Jilli's LJ entry about Lillian taking her over to the computer and demanding, "Lion. Grrrwl." So. Cute.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Last time we checked, S's fever had finally dipped below 101. Mine was under 100 last time I checked.

Actually, my biggest worry right now, other than S not getting too sick, is how contagious I'll be tomorrow, when I have to be at work again. I really don't want to give this to anyone else, certainly not the actors or other crew as that could just kill the closing weekend.
