I want a particular set of fairy prints for Emeline's bedroom, should she ever get one. They are by Cicely Mary Barker. They are called "The Alphabet Fairies" and they are beautiful. Here's a listing of each one: [link]
They range from 10.99 to 59.99POUNDS. And they're tiny - 4.25" x 3". And they're really hard to find in the states and I am sad because I WANT THEM.
t stamps foot.
When I get rich, I'ma buy ALL OF THOSE!!
I found a listing with US prices: [link]
I could get repros on eBay, which I would more than happy with, but the letters are hit and miss.
Shirtless DR was the big talk on my radio station this morning.
I saw it out of the corner of my eye on my TV last night when I was getting today's food together. I think it was a teaser for the news. How is this news to people who aren't us? I mean from us it's pretend-lecherous all-in-good-fun admiration of someone attractive. On the actual news? Whahuh?
I'm in between classes. I should be doing work, but I don't feel like it.
Tu vas, chica!
Morning, All!
Continued safe-drive-ma to Sparky and DH.
Aimee, I'm sure to get sporked in horror at this suggestion, BUT...
Buy the book: [link]
Remove the pages with the images, frame and mat.
Not gonna get sporked by me - I just might totally do it.
I did it with my vintage wildflower prints.
Why do I have to like the expensive, vintagey stuff? Why can't I just decorate her room with Dora shit and be done with it?

Because Dora stuff is tacky? (OMG, could I BE any more snooty middle class white chick? Shoot me now.)
I have a lot of Flower Fairy books. Some were mine, some my sister's. Some may have been my mother's. I love them. And I wouldn't blink at getting a $7 in-print copy and using it for decoration.
Man, I wish there was some more background noise in my office, becaue I'm reading Overheard in New York and my muffled and strangled gasps of laughter are very audible.

Maybe they were playing the "How dare they portray a minor this way? How dare they pander to people who look at this and go Yum! Child molesters!" thing. It's what the media were doing to Dakota Fanning's movie at Sundance, where her character got raped and Dakota insisted on playing the scene themselves. There was a great deal of moral outrage about how Dakota is obviously far too young to understand how she was being abused.
Because Dora stuff is tacky?
Oooh - good call.

Hell, at $7, I could buy two in cse they did the asshole thing and printed them back-to-back.
That's what I'ma do.
Hopefully, Pete approves of these fairies.

Kids are fickle. Notoriously so. Decorate a room in Dora, and a week later Dora will persona non grata and everything will be about Blue or Elmo or whoever.
I love the fairies, Aimee. I would totally go with the book idea.
Oh, Plei, Sara is wearing her very! favorite! ever! swirl flower dress today and I took a picture. Maybe I'll even get around to posting it.
