Because Dora stuff is tacky? (OMG, could I BE any more snooty middle class white chick? Shoot me now.)
Kids are fickle. Notoriously so. Decorate a room in Dora, and a week later Dora will persona non grata and everything will be about Blue or Elmo or whoever.
I love the fairies, Aimee. I would totally go with the book idea.
Oh, Plei, Sara is wearing her very! favorite! ever! swirl flower dress today and I took a picture. Maybe I'll even get around to posting it.

Oh, yes, please!
Aimee, cut the book up if the prints are what you want--it's a good alternative. I've sacrificed books to the decorating gods myself once or twice.
I didn't do vintage but I kept the decorations non-character related just for the reason AmyLiz says.
Plus, I had to take everything off Owen's walls because he pretty much climbs his dresser (yes, that's anchored to the wall) and pulls stuff off himself. He's so fucking destructive, it's sort of exasperating. I hope Olivia doesn't do that.
I woke up with some sort of raging cold/sinus infection. Head filled with what felt like concrete and a throat that feels like sandpaper. DH called in to take care of the kids and I've been sleeping most of the morning.
Disrobed Emma Thompson, on the other hand...
you should see Carrington, a lovely movie about the painter Dora Carrington and her relationship with Lytton Strachey, a gay writer. She has lots of lovers, and so there are more than a few scenes of tasteful nudity. Very sensual.
Disrobed Emma Thompson, on the other hand...
Oh my lord, the scene in
Angels in America
when she has the angel-sex is so freakin' sexy.
wrod.ETA: That playwright is a Wire fan...he wrote a whole essay on it. I was pleasantly surprised.
In re yumminess ... I still remember Fay getting her first look at an Abercrombie & Fitch and the posters ....
Grrr.
Just finished an audit meeting (I was the auditor) with a bunch of whiners. I note that record says such-and-such document was updated, but it wasn't. "Oh, I meant that the forms within it were updated." Then that's what you should have written, Moron! Don't get pissy with me for assuming that what you wrote in the record is actually what you intended to write! I note that they need a system to do blah and that they told me that they don't have one. "No, we have one, it's just not fully implemented." Then say that! Grrr.
Now must go and edit the heck out of my summary report so they don't look bad.
Grr, I say.
How is it not the weekend yet?
Because my plans for the weekend haven't been finalized yet, and I need time to finish cleaning my apartment before then anyway.
