Hi. I'm sick. Second day home and I'm glad to be home and all, but I'm just so uncomfortable all the time. Stupid head cold!
Good luck with the nutritionist stuff, vw... One thing I'm working on actively is not being angry at myself for weight stuff, because it totally puts me in a bad mind to eat food that's healthy and good for me. When I'm mad at myself (even if it's for a logical reason), I want to eat food that is VERY VERY bad, and you see how that sets up into a vicious cycle right away.
In conclusion: do not buy clothes that do not fit you anymore, because it will just give you a reason to flog yourself down the road!
Signed,
Been There, Done That.
Hi, Nora! Sorry to hear about you being sick. Feel better.
Er, I'm not *scolding* anyone. Just pointing out potential mental pitfalls to look out for in the future.
I just read an really interesting book, though, called
You: On A Diet.
Very interesting discussion of how food affects your body and what your body does to food. Also analysis about physiologica/psychological aspects of weight gain/food issues as well. Intriguing!
Hi, sj! Thank you for the well wishes. I'm hoping to get all my reading for school done and then I'll be satisfactorily productive.
I'm reading the same book, Nora. It's a very interesting read.
It took me a little while to get through the biology talky meat, which was a challenge, but then it was really fascinating.
Do your guys's ratios change much?
Only since childbirth, really. It stayed pretty steady at around .70-.72 for yonks, and is now closer to .75-.77 post-baby.
Oh, yeah. I totally know that buying pants that didn't really fit was stupid. I'm not actually beating myself up about this. I told my doctor yesterday that I just want to do something before it becomes a problem. There are so many weight issues in my family (Type II Diabetes, cholesterol issues, heart problems, blood pressure issues, etc.), and I don't have any of those yet. I'd like to keep it that way. So, I'm trying to be preventative. She thought that was pretty smart.
And, I'm totally getting excited about joining the Y here. They have all new equipment, and tons of great programs. Hopefully something will help.
Oh, and feel better, Nora! Sick is no fun.
Bitches, make me go quilt. I've got to have this quilt done by Sunday, and I haven't even cut the binding fabric yet. This is my LEAST favorite part of quilting, but really, it's not gonna get easier if I keep putting it off.
Hooray for the Y! Except of course, if they only have a maximum of 2 lanes open for laps in the evenings for people who want to swim after work.
shakes fist at Salem Y.
