How do you factor the other measurements you recommend into the equation?
I honestly don't remember anymore. You added some to others and maybe subtracted somewhere else and then divided the two numbers. It was quite convoluted, which is why they went to just neck/waist/hip a few years before I got out of the Navy. I have no idea what they use now. I do know that men who were into serious bodybuilding/weightlifting often had to get special letters from their doctors because the neck just won't get that big and it skewed their bodyfat to much higher than it actually was, often putting them in the overfat or obese categories.
Uh oh. Aerosoles is having a boot sale. I'm not sure I needed to know that.

I've been meaning to stop into an Aerosoles store for MONTHS now to try on boots and figure out what size I'd wear. I really need brown boots! I have no brown boots!
My weight fluctuation has been pretty much a matter of how much fat I've got on me, much more so than muscle mass changes, and the ratio definitely goes up and down with my weight/fat %.
I put weight on primarily in my ass and breasts. So my hip/waist doesn't change so much--my waist gets slowly bigger, and my hips get bigger faster. Now, my biceps can tell you how fit I am when I get big--right now they're bulky with my recent muscle weight gain. They don't get that much bigger when it's not muscle. I aim to drop fat as we get closer to my black belt test. It'll be interesting to see how they respond.
I've also been theheaviest I've ever been in the past year, and carrying more weight in the belly than ever before - I tend to carry my weight in my hips and thighs first. So, it'll be interesting to see if the trend continues as I get more fit.
And the difference thus far is going from 85% to 82%, and if I remember my measurements from high school (when I was at a good weight for my height as I knew to figure it, but definitely curvalicious) right I was around 65%.
I think the change is probably a more useful measure to me personally than the raw percentage - seeing the percentage go down, especially if the weight is plateaued, means I'm progressing in the right direction.
I tend to stay in that weird 12/14 zone where nothing fits quite right.
That's where I'm at now, and have been teaching myself how to do basic alterations to take care of the wierd fit issues.
I've put on 15 lbs since the summer. It's all in the middle--except for the part that on my face. I'm going to have to buy new pants at this point. I was down to size 12 jeans after having Owen but they do not fit me at all and I'm left with some of the drawsting pants I wore through both pregnancies and that's about it. I started to steal a pair of DH's jeans this morning. And, while they fit me in the waist, they are way too long and baggy everywhere else.
My activity level is starting to get back up so now I just have to cut the junk food out of my diet.
Bwhahahahaha.
I'm actually going to be starting to see a nutritionist next month, because what I've been trying for weight loss has actually caused me to gain, no lose. We know my meds are playing a nasty part in this, so it's time to call in the big guns. The nutritionist will determine whether or not I need to go to the MGH Weight Center for further evaluation.
I'm the heaviest I've ever been and none of my clothes fit. Worse, I thought I'd be losing weight, so I bought some clothes that borderline fit me at the beginning of the month (mom convinced me to buy them since I'd be losing weight). Well, they sure don't fit now. So depressing.
My attempts to lose weight have all led to weight gain as well. For me, I fairly sure it is because I get disgusted and depressed and then overeat and undo any good that I have done.
