I'm on the phone with Trudy right now (AIFG). She's fine, if a little bored. She has enough water to do her, and says the city is really quiet and all the windows are lit with candles. 'Tis like the 1800s.

On the theory that it's never too early to begin planning a party (especially where travel is involved), we're talking Halloween weekend in San Francisco. Plans are vague, but certain visitors to the City by the Bay - including Teppy and Perkins - are definites. Halloween is actually on Friday night, and that means the annual kinky hoo-ha on Castro Street (the Castro thing is traditional and has earned its fame) will be doubly fun, since it verges the weekend.
My thinking is, a party at our house on Saturday, 1 November. If folks want to do the Castro street party, on Halloween proper, that would mean no clash of potential good times.
If anyone - specifically those who will need a bed or beds - for the weekend or any part thereof - is interested, e me relatively soon and let me know. sf_deb@yahoo.com works for it.
I flunked my driving test.
Am moving in the morning (or, well, a few hours from now) and my DSL, in theory, will not be connected until Thursday. Am (or should be) v. busy at work, so...grayish for awhile.
Hey, I can reply to a post in this thread and still be on topic! Go me.
Jess is probably without power.
I was! We grilled some hamburgers, gathered around our battery-powered radio to listen to the news, and then went out onto the dock to watch the stars come out before going to bed only when it became too dark to read. It was all very 1930's.
Currently, I am ALMOST HOME!!! I'm sitting in an internet cafe in the Detroit airport, paying $6 for 15 minutes of internet access, all of which I am devoting to you wonderful people, who I miss very much. I'm not sure if we've got bad weather here, or if the bad weather is in NYC, but the 1:37 pm flight I was on still hasn't left yet, and according to FAA.gov, it's not likely to leave for another half hour. But I wanted to check in and post a "hey, the internet!" message while I had the time. I have no idea if NYC has DSL or cable (or subways) back yet, but hopefully I'll be completely un-dark by tonight.
Mwah!
