This thread is for Buffista quotage. Posts that are profound, witty, or otherwise deserving of immortality go here. This is also Shrift's source for the BRQG, so be aware that if your words end up here, they'll also end up there. Finally, please note which thread spawned the quotage and please white-out anything that might be spoilery to Un-Americans.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Katerina Bee: Somebody in your family has to be setting a good example. Guess what? It's you!

The status is NOT quo.

In F2F
Just another example of how two unrelated posts can be really really funny when fortuitously posted one after the other (Matt thought he was referring to the view from the F2F patio at the hotel).

NoiseDesign

When it comes to stockings and thigh high type things it ALL ends up as fun and racy in my brain.

Kristin, he passed out from lack of oxygen to the brain, is all. He'll be fine. ND? You OK down there, bro?

Matt the Bruins fan

Seconded. Think of the view!

Ginger in Literary:

I don't know what I would have done without the library. I would have been out on the corner saying, "Do you have any spare change? If I get another dollar, I can buy a paperback."

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Erin :

Billytea, according to one of our lovely rags here in the States (Weekly World News?) there are ALIEN CATS ON MARS.

Can this be TRUE?

billytea:

I don't see why not. 'Leave me the hell alone' is a sentiment well represented by cats, the notion that some of them should have taken it to the extreme of leaving the planet seems reasonable.

Alternatively, of course, it would have to be a case of convergent evolution, where otherwise unrelated animals have evolved to fit the same niche in different environments. Thus we can conclude that Mars as a planet is populated by small furry mammals, and possibly tassels.

Nilly: Secret Message to ND's brain: Why won't you be a nice not-so-little brain, cooperate with that man who has the head in which you live, and let him get some rest? You can come play again after he falls asleep, you know, if you really like, and when that man wakes up, he's going to think it's nothing but dreams.

Natter:

amych: for the sake of the more forgetful and last-minute-ish among us, have we ever determined the speed of -ma? Is it on the order of the speed of sound? Or of light? Or of UPS standard ground service? Do we need to allow extra shipping time at high-demand times, like packages at the holidays? And is it really, really obvious that I'm not getting work done?

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Emily in Boxed Set, because it's true:

Man, I should just stay home and watch Sci Fi all day. Pretty soon I'll know every actor in every genre show ever!

Trudy: Can I just marry him now and reveal my multitude of assets to him as the years roll by?

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

In Minearverse (I did just nearly spit on my laptop screen at it, so it counts):

Michelvis: ...Buffistas everywhere (but especially in larger markets) could call up random people in their areas and tell them about WF in that polite, unobtrusive, but heartfelt Buffista way.

Allyson: I think most Buffistas are too shy to call for a pizza.
