I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Emily: Gar, I think the whole point of most martial arts is to enable the rest of us to have a chance against people like you. I believe you're meant to swing a mace around your head or something.

Talking about exchanging a certain partially dressed character for our birthdays in Buffy:

ita:

All of this is assuming that the January birthdays have any inclination to release him.

Connie Neil:

Let me guess, ita, yours is January?

ita:

No need to get into specifics -- we have a perfectly valid abstract premise to work with.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Totally off-topic, in Angel:

Shari H: In Nilly's absence, I'll take the liberty of saying that Kwisatz Haderach, which is translated in Dune as "the shortening of the way" is close to Hebrew (which has no "w", but "haderech" does mean "the way"). Most of the Fremen words and names in Dune seem to me to be more Arabic-sounding and Arabic does have a "w". YourTranslation-of-semitic-languagesMayVary

Wolfram: That's what I thought, but my Hebrew is far from fluent so I wanted someone else to verify that. It does refer to a phenomenon that is supposed to happen to righteous people that they arrive at a destination faster then would normally be possible. Like when I drive on the NJ Tpke.

amych: What on earth is wrong with Steak and 69 day, anyway?

Betsy: Beurre maitre d' all over the bellybutton?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Katefate:

I've been a sickie! Half of me wants to whine, half wants to be a Brave Soldier.

JessPMoon:

I vote for whining. One of these days, there will be a study that proves whining can speed up the healing process, I'm sure of it.

brillig

In Buffy, re: Valentine's Day, me playing straight man.

Katerina Bee: I just wanted to type "Orgasm Friend" in honor of Valentine's Day.

ita They need to have cards for that.

Katerina: "To my Sweetie.... you are the best Orgasm Friend EVER! Lustily, your honeypie."

ita: You know what? Forget V-Day. This deserves it's own day. O-Day. June 9th.

connie neil: Why June 9th?

ita: 6/9

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

Unless you're UnAmerican, in which case September is your month.

Jess PMoon:

I'd be willing to see a Buffy/Spike wedding, picket fence and happy smiling kids if only the word Spuffy (and all its brethren) would vanish forever.
