Although I understand Terry Wogan's no longer doing the voiceover bit in the UK, and Eurovision without old Tel snarking madly at everyone would be a shock to the system.
Actually, he's handed over to Graham Norton, so if you half-close your ears they're not all that different: same Irish lilt, same sarky tone. It's fine.
I didn't watch this year either, really, and am not watching the above-linked clip, but Germany haven't won for years and I think they're desperate.

Next ignorant Yank question... does "pinch a loaf" mean the same thing in the UK as "pinch off a loaf" does in the US? I'm perplexed at the way Stephen Fry just used it in a sentence.
Well, pinch means steal. So I'd understand that to be 'steal a loaf of bread', which was the kind of thing that people used to get transported to Australia for.
