I think there;ll be a second season - it was praised to the rafters here. Have you ever seen Hippies , the shortlived followup to Father Ted ? J R-T was great as the lead posh hippy. He does always strike me as an inexpensive knockoff of Paul Bettany, though.

But with girlier hair!
I can't explain why I like him so, but he was great on Green Wing. A fair amount of the show (about 1/3) had me FFing compulsively (redefining watch from the hall), but somehow the series finale managed to pull it together -- I barely skipped a thing.
Ending was very .. very ... well, literal in a way.
I need to get my hands on Hippies -- thanks!
Am-Chau, Wonderfalls is repeated on Sky Mix tonight (Friday) at 8pm
Hippies had Simon Pegg and Sally Phillips too.
The British comedy scene is not unlike a line marriage.
I had a theory about Green Wing, that it's the first prog sitcom. Its cast was a supergroup of stars from other shows, it needlessly stretched episodes out, it had terrible indulgent longeurs.
Hell yeah on the longueurs. What's "prog," though?
"progressive rock". Ask Hec.
Ask Hec? A music question? Are you insane? I'll just make some stuff up.
I can't tell if you're kidding about not knowing - Prog is all those endless fucking albums about pixies former hippy bands like Pink Floyd recorded in the '70s before punk rightly exterminated the,
It's like the precurser to the nameless, faceless corporate rock of bands like Boston.
Jim's description alone is enough to make me never want to watch Green Wing ever.
