Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

'And on that tragic day, an era came to its inevitable end.' That's all there is.

Um, 7-11's are open 24 Hours! (Although presumably at one time they weren't.)

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Seriously? Jeez, I've been away too long.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

OTOH I am comforted by a 24 hour supermarket with milk (and everything else) at supermarket prices

Are there any in Adelaide (as opposed to the larger country towns)? I know Bi-Lo had two or three 24 hour suburban supermarkets but they've changed to midnight closing.

I know I'm going to kick myself when I see the answer but; who's "pat the rat" and from where would I know him/her?

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

I don't think people in Australia really think of 7-11 as a dining solution per se

They do in Dogs In Space

7-11 over here has been rebranded Budgens, but they were a lifesaver during my raving days - there's a window between 1am and 3am where the only place you can buy any food at all on the west side of Brighton is 7-11. I spent many an happy hour in there, swaying slightly trying to focus on food packaging...

Ha yes I should have added "with the important exception of people on drugs".

I always wondered if that was an accurate portrait of Melbourne life.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

In Bern, the latenight weaving-on-queue place is Freschetta's, which is a sort of 24-7 mini-grocery that has actually pastries and a deli-counter where you can have real sandwiches built. I think it is more expensive than 7-11, but I still haven't figured out the currency. A good sandwich, great fresh coffee and a bunch of grapes go for a little over ten francs. Like eight or nine US bux?

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

Having personally brought the Un-American thread to an untimely demise, it is up to me to raise a new topic.

…having exhausted the subject of convenience stores …

An easily exhausted subject, I'll grant you.

Excuse me. I believe that's

Internal syntax with itself warring
is

or possibly ... Internal syntax with itself warring

has

It was a battle. I lost.

In the States they are having hurricanes and elections. Surely, there must be some distinction between the two.
