And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

t counting up days spent in England, Spain, Mexico, plus a couple in Canada I might have as much as a month of credit there!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I describe myself as UnAmerican on a regular basis.

As do a lot of long-time Buffistas. I'm an un-un-American, so maybe I should stay out of this, but as much as I've seen it used as a self-description within this community, I've also always shared ita's and Sophia's take on the name.

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

The term UnAmerican is a specific joke about McCarthy. ita, I'm sorry if I offended with my us-ing. For what it's worth, the UnAmerican thing comes from the original title (The UnAmerican Buffista support group), and if it offends anyone, well, that's odd but fair enough. New title-wise, I'd go further and vote for: "Are you now or have you ever been: UnAmerican buffistas" - because that includes those UnAms (Billytea, ita) who are in the belly of the beast. Speaking personally, I'd hate to see the UnAmerican term vanish as much as I would the word "Buffista" - it's how I think of this part of the boards, it's always been how we describe ourselves (not-american doesn't have the right sense of lighthearted mockery & snook-cocking) and frankly it's a phrase I'm rather proud of.

Are you now or have you ever been: UnAmerican buffistas

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

frankly it's a phrase I'm rather proud of.

As well you should be. I wouldn't have thought to use it as my term of choice if I hadn't seen it here.

OK-- I am laughing even harder now, becuase I just realized it is not only a McCarthy ref but an Angel episode (dim this morning).

What Jim said.

Well, other than coming up with the phrase, because I didn't - he did. But other than that, what Jim said.

"Are you now or have you ever been: UnAmerican buffistas"

Love it, too.

[Edit: resisting the urge to point that 'buffistas' should be capitalized]

[Another Edit: failing]

Nilly, if you didn't point out capitalization, you wouldn't be Nilly. Which would be tragic.

Awww, thanks, Jim.

It's worth mentioning that there's no capitalization in Hebrew, so I can only spend my nit-picking (about this) in English. In Hebrew I nit-pick about things that don't exist in English (like gender in adjectives and stuff like that).
