Buffista Fic: It Could Be Plot Bunnies
Where the Buffistas let their fanfic creative juices flow. May contain erotica.
the ff folk do have different priorities.
Clever and polite. This is why I like you, connie.
My best and worse reviews are at ff.n. On the one hand, they love my sappy!fic; on the other, they don't like my slash, which while still sappy is, err, slashier. One or two have major issues with Spike/Giles.

Agreed. I've gotten some very thoughtful reviews and a few 'plz rite more!!!!1!!!' types of reviews. No out and out flames, although one person was miffed that I wasn't going with her OTP (it was still a positive if highly misspelled review).

Miss Manners is my goddess. How to say what you really feel in a way that no one can take offense at.
I'll give them one thing at ff.net, they're enthusiastic and eager to share their opinions. In other words, rabid. ;)

This reminds me of a definition I once heard of tact. Tact is: The ability to tell someone to go to Hell, and have them looking forward to the trip.

Round here we sell them tickets to Special Hell.
No out and out flames
Sadly, I had one real flame, over S/G. That was about the time I started looking for more slash-friendly places (and sex friendly, too. I don't write smut (much) but my characters have sex. Often, and sometimes loudly.)
My ff "flame" was "Slash? No, no, no, please, no." It was between two reviews of "Oh, boy, Spike and V!Giles? Cool!"
I love Spike. I love Giles. Personally, I wouldn't think of having them have sex together, but different strokes. At 14, I would've been completely stunned.
It's funny though, if both characters are vampires I can imagine them shagging anybody. "Oh, you know vampires. They'll do it with everyone. Or eat them."
"Oh, you know vampires. They'll do it with everyone. Or eat them."
Which sums up my take on them nicely.

That's probably really what the flame was. 'Giles is old and Spike's straight and you ought to see a therapist' really did strike me as more thier issue than mine.
My reaction to the "Giles is old! Ick!" statements is always a restrained sob and a virtual pat on the shoulder accompanied by "Someday, when you are a woman, you will understand, my dear." And I go back to mentally cataloging every lucious crag on ASH's face. Oh, and counting the imperfectly disguised lines on JM, too, while I'm at it.
