Zoe: Captain will come up with a plan. Kaylee: That's good. Right? Zoe: Possibly you're not recalling some of his previous plans.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Okay, I finally finished YJ today. So when I said this earlier:

The Scarab is not Kord tech, damn it. I mean, the pre-new 52 explanation (alien tech from an alien race that wanted to enslave the Earth [like you do]) doesn't lend itself to a team show, but -- damn it, it's alien tech!

I was hilariously wrong, huh?

The whole Scarab plot is more or less straight out of the pre-new 52 Blue Beetle book. I cannot render textually how happy I am. (Seriously, I was all, "They kind of look like the Reach. That's shitty to imply it and not do...it... HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP!!!") I think I scared the dog.

Fabulous. So, SO fabulous.

Megan has problems, yo. Are we supposed to assume that Aqualad is basically lobotomized now? That's pretty dark.

So, nothing more until January? If we're lucky? t edit (I mean, if we're lucky and the show doesn't get permanently pulled. Not "man, are we lucky we don't have to watch this again until January." That would be crazy.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What does a portent look like again?

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Yeah. That doesn't bode well for the show.

New (very short) Dancing Deadpool vid: [link]

The Deadpool writers obviously weren't hired for their ability to dance (though they possibly were hired for the ability to pass as one another).

So I just read the list of superheroes you want to fuck list with commentary. I decided to read it before the apology, just to see how it went down unseasoned. I'm trying to work out what other James Gunn stuff I might have read--for some reason him mentioning his petite girlfriend in the context of other people he wants to sleep with feels familiar, but that's probably not actually a distinguishing characteristic.

At the very least, no, if you're going to direct a comic book film, you shouldn't write that column at all. And really not like that. But it's not like he knew. So it's a bad thing to get the spotlight post hiring, and the apology seems decent. But the column isn't really that sexy. Or funny. Either of which seems like a good goal. Never mind both. As for satire, totally over my head.
