I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

Sail, you have plenty of talent, and nothing at all to be ashamed of. Post here and be welcome.

What is even happening?

Oh, AmyLiz, thank you.

Definitely. And one of the reasons I feel such a fraud. I look at the level of writing I see by everyone here (and for some reason, I've always felt the most intimidated by Cindy!) and I wonder that I dare to post my stuff in the same space.

*bap*

But that's what I've finally decided. I have to. Trite but true--nothing ventured, nothing gained. So, here I am.

I suspect the only thing I may have over you is that I'm a natural big mouth. I love to talk, have to talk, usually get my ass in trouble precisely because of that. As my mother is fond of saying, "Cindy started talking at six months, and hasn't show signs of stopping, yet." And she's not wrong.

Because books.

Sail, I'd love to read your stuff, if you'd be okay with me friending your LJ. I'm amy37 there. And (natter) did you see my post that I loved your very unexpected and lovely card (and I'm thinking of stealing your idea and embellishing cards myself next year)?

edited because I hate typos

Heh. I have been accused of this frequently. It's one thing to verbalize and another to put it on paper. Two different areas of the brain and somehow, I've never felt they were running in conjunction until recently. We'll see how long it lasts.

ETA: Go ahead, AmyLiz, the more the merrier. I appreciate the fact you're interested enough in my writing to follow it. Thank you.

t bounces into thread

Can I be vain for a moment, if it's for a good cause?

On the web site we're designing, I need several interesting pictures of myself. They won't be in little boxes like a book jacket--evidently Dave is using them throughout the site as backdrops/icons/etc.

Anyway, we did a little mini-photo-shoot today, and I have some roughs that I need to narrow down. Some are goofy--fair warning. These are in black and white only because it's simpler to look at them that way; they do have color info we can use down the road if necessary.

I've winnowed out some of the truly awful ones, and I'm down to about 10 or 12 or so.

Would it be okay to post a link and get some feedback about 3-4 best?

I'd like to look at pictures of pretty Kristin, you bet.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I think I like the very first one best, Kristin. It's direct and dignified, but with a nice hint of the playful/coy, too.

No takers on the beta-ing? I promise I'm not the weepy sensitive mess I was this morning. It's just the first six pages of Anna, up to my first POV shift, and I want to know if it's a decent hook and intro to the characters.

Because books.

They're all adorable, but I'll vote for numbers 4, 6, and 8. Very foamy indeed.
