We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know...insane.

Could you shoo in my direction? We're already starting to get outdoor watering bans.

(The hazards of live television: The other night the anchor said, "As we look at another week without rain, some counties are starting to ban water.")

Oh God, Ginger, we've had one day in the last two weeks without some rain. We need to do a weather exchange.

strange 70s pop songs about death

Not much stranger than the spate of late-50s/early-60s "dead teenager" songs. On the Steve Goodman best-of collection I have, there's a hilarious medley he does of those songs ("Tell Laura I Love Her," "Teen Angel," and another one I can't recall offhand) that stemmed from him borrowing a motorcycle helmet from someone in the audience.
