How did Emmet take it?
He picked her up and carefully carried her off the ferry, all the way up the gangway to the docks. Then he said, "My arms are getting tired." So I took Em. Then he shook his arms twice and said, "Okay" and I was obliged to give her back.
Hil! So very many congratulations on your exam! Not that I was surprised, but still, I was extremely happy for you!
[Edit:
Then he shook his arms twice and said, "Okay"
OK, that's just lovely.]

Emmett is VERY sweet to Em. If you guys lived closer, I would absolutely trust him to keep an eye on her for short periods of time.
Vortex? The color of that wrap thing you had for the prom was gorgeous on you. But even that simple t-shirt you wore on the evening before, perhaps? The light-blue one? That color looked amazing on you, too.
thanks, Nilly! I don't generally like bright colors, but turquoise (the blue) was an exception (mostly because I liked the earrings :) ). The green wrap thing was an impulse purchase, but I love it. I wore it when my parents took me out to dinner for my birthday, and my mother was covetous.
Yeah, it was really sweet to see Emmett with Em. Maybe especially so in the context of the Halloweenie.

Lewis To Direct 'Nutty Professor' Musical
Veteran comedian Jerry Lewis is directing a new musical based on this 1963 film The Nutty Professor. The 80-year-old will not perform in the show, but will produce and direct the play, which he plans to bring to Broadway, New York in 2008. The star directed, wrote and starred in the original Nutty Professor film and plans to stick closely to the script. He explains, "You can't reinvent the character. The dual role of Jekyll and Hyde made the film. If you're looking to make it different, you'll ruin it." Lewis has cast unknown actor Michael Andrews in the lead role, after seeing him perform at a private function.
Oh, Nilly. Thanks, but I totally stole that.
Eh, more like boosted, from "The Wire".
Jimmy sees his partner wearing a pink shirt to work and says "Takes a brave man to wear a pink shirt in Homicide."
And his partner says "Yeah, it does."(Because he's usually quite mellow about putting up with Jimmy's crap)
But Jimmy keeps it up and says "Or a familiarity with alternative lifestyles."(i.e. being gay) But I'm totally flattered that you thought that was mine.
I don't generally like bright colors
You looked so lively, they worked great (um, to my eyes). Strangely enough, several of my friends - all looking very different from each other, with very different comlexions - got recently shirts of a similar shade to that turquoise, and it looked great on each and every one of them.
I totally stole that
Maybe you stole the idea behind it. But the way the sentence was written was entirely your own. At least to my eyes.

Woman Attacked Dog Breeder With Dead Chihuahua, Cops Say
ST. PETERS, Missouri — A woman angry that her new puppy had died pushed her way into a dog breeder's home and repeatedly hit her on the head with the dead Chihuahua, authorities said.
The 33-year-old woman told police she had taken the puppy to a veterinarian, who said it was only 4 weeks old and needed to be returned to its mother. But before she could return the puppy, it died.
Early Wednesday, the woman went to the breeder's home, pushed her way inside and began fighting with the breeder as she tried to make her way to the basement to get another puppy, police said.
The breeder wrestled the woman out of her house to the front porch, where the woman then hit the breeder over the head numerous times with the dead puppy, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported, citing police.
As she drove away, the woman waved the dead puppy out of the car's sunroof and yelled threats at the breeder, police said. She later called the breeder and threatened her and her family, according to court records.
