[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Excuse me while I whine again. I just talked to Teacup Guy and he is miserable. I am afraid he is going to have a bad attitude about being in this apartment the entire time we are there, and that is not how I wanted our living together to start. I want to fix this and I don't know how.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

of course he is upset - this wasn't his plan either. But what he might need is action. talking to either a tenets rights group or looking at the local laws to look for something you guys can get out of this - lower rent , less security, a 60 notice before you have to move, anything like that. ( and it may be the rental agency you have to go after) and then you guys gotta talk - and figure out how y'all deal with big dissapointments.

{{sj and teacup guy}} Sorry you have todeal with this evil, but you guys will get through just fine.

He would love to just get out of this totally; unfortunately, that is not an option for us right now. Even if we could get out of the rental agreement, we have to be out of our current places in 12 days. But, he keeps coming back to wanting to get out of this anyway. As for getting something out of it, it doesn't look like that is going to happen because no one feels like they did anything wrong, so they aren't willing to make any concessions.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm sorry Teacup Guy is taking it badly, sj. It's a tough situation for both of you. beth is right, it can be an opportunity for growth as a couple if you can figure out how to deal with this together.

Thanks. I think things will get better when we are both moved in and, hopefully, things settle down a bit. Right now we aren't spending as much time together as we would like to because we each have to pack up our own places.

-t is me; I was about to say something similar. Not that knowing it is a "growing experience" makes it suck any less, but it I do believe that these types of situations are a little bit better when you know you at least don't have to go through them alone. (And now I have my grandfather yelling, "It builds CHARACTER!" in my mind's ear.)

I'm sorry sj, moving is stressful enough without having this to deal with, too. Of course you didn't want your living together to start out like this. I hope that you and TCG will be able to sit down together soon to figure out what your options are, and which one(s) you're going to persue. It's tough to have that conversation over the phone.

If they do show this apt to potential sellers, I think you or TCG should be there to say, "In our humble opinion, the woman from whom you're contemplating buying this place from is a mealy-mouthed weasel."

I also will have at least twenty-four hours notice to make the place look less appealing. Sort of like Designed to Sell in reverse.

ETA: Not that I would do that or anything. Tries to look innocent

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I'm sorry you're in that position, sj. That really sucks.

Everyone who commented on the Wallybee pics, aww, shucks. You're all very kind.
