I can think of plenty of places to spend $100 on a shirt, but I don't shop there. $40 is about my upper limit, and even then it would have to be one hell of a nice shirt.

I had that experience. I didn't used to make holes in my jeans that easily. Then I gained some pounds and had only one pair of lined jeans that fit me. So I wore them all the time. They have quite a few holes now.
Hemp jeans exist.
I would spend $100 on a shirt, if I had extra $100s floating around. Heck, I'd probably flash Gus for $100. I have flashed many people for free in the last few years (while breastfeeding, not like at Mardi Gras or anything).
Tom W, your daffodils will not die. Daffodils have been surviving New England's wacky springs for many years now. The tips of the leaves may yellow, but they will still bloom.
They make lined jeans? I had no idea.
I've dropped hundreds of dollars on a single piece of clothing a few times. I had some hesitation, but I don't regret it at all now. I like liking my clothes. And now that I'm replacing the core of my wardrobe, I'm willing to spend a little more to get it to be something I think I'll like for a long while. Because I never want to shop again.
They're corduroy rather than denim, but Cordaround makes a skirt that might do. I found out about this co. from an SF Chron article yesterday.
sometimes back pocket holes, random snags, and holes where the legs are too long and get stepped on.
Oh yeah, I get those too.
Once I was cutting cardboard with a utility knife and ended up cutting a 1/2 " slit in the leg of a new pair of black jeans. Of course, it got all frayed around the cut, so the hole really stood out.
Sometimes my t-shirts get holes in them when my cat jumps on my back and uses his claws to climb to my shoulder. But usually that only happens to thin and/or worn t-shirts.
The crocuses were just breaking the topsoil last friday. I forgot to make note of them today (there are quite a few free range crocus patches along this one bit of road.)
LL Bean makes flannel-lined and polar fleece-lined jeans. My ex-housemate bought me a pair and I've worn them like they're going out of style.
Hemp jeans exist.
Yeah, but the one time I tried some on, they had none in my size. I had them order me a pair but they never showed up.
I suppose I could try again....
Too bad ChiPants isn't still in business.
