Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

aurelia, were the kitties handled by people before you got them?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

They were rescue animals. I think their experiences of being handled were primarily being captured and medical care. The people at the shelter tried to socialize them some but they were only there a couple of weeks.

I offer my hands to sniff often and reach to touch, but I haven't forced it on them yet. I can probably catch Gilda and just hang on to her long enough that she will realize nothing bad will happen. I think Rosie would panic. She's got a little more wild in her.

How old are they? I would probably try to grab and just hold them for a bit once in a while.

When I was a kid, I was always the one trying to socialize the semi-wild barn cats we had about.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, the Tim Gunn Network bit on Best Week Ever is HILARIOUS. Could I love Tim Gunn any more? Only if he worked down where I go to school and not up in Times Square.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My cat's currently trying to figure out if she should jump on top of the clothes-drying rack. I'm trying to convince her it would be a bad idea, because the clothes are only draped over dowel rods that are too narrow for her to walk on and she'll just slip through them.

She's now meowing while drinking her water. (She has to mutter in between sips.)

Aurelia, that schnauzer looks a lot like my old pet, Boots (a half Schnauzer, half wired haired terrier) that we had when I was a teen. Love the pinning pose!

The medical paperwork says they are close to 10 months. The woman who runs the shelter thinks they are closer to 8 months.

I would probably try to grab and just hold them for a bit once in a while.

Yeah, I'll try that with Gilda. I'm not sure how I'll get ahold of Rosie. She's really fast.

Oh, and maybe give them some Pounce or catnip afterwards for a reward.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Maybe once she sees that Gilda isn't being hurt, she will be more likely to let you pet her.

That's been my approach so far.

Oh, and maybe give them some Pounce or catnip afterwards for a reward.

That's a good idea. I used treats to get them to come out from under the bed when they were being hidey-cats.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

She's now meowing while drinking her water. (She has to mutter in between sips.)
And they say cats are smart... (I say that while laughing trying to picture it...)

I think today has well and truly kicked my ass. I hurt in lots of places and I suspect it is time for bed. And catching up on the last couple Daily Shows and Colbert Reports.
