While I wait for inspiration for my friend's bday, at least I just made a couple of bars of soap.
I would love to rent one of those steam cleaners, but the transportation is a PITA for no-car me.

bon, what I mean is that there are always cars downstairs at the mall and the Target folks will hold your stuff while you go get one, then come up in the parking garage to the Target doors. Then they will stamp your receipt so you do not have to pay for the parking garage.
mmm - Target indeed. perhaps a group outing?
My local grocery has the steam cleaners so I have lugged one home in my granny cart. I really have no advice except to not overdo the soap or the wetting of the carpet. You can end up with forever sudsy carpet or carpet that takes days to dry.
