I laughed long and hard at TDS last night. I figured the guy was in intensive care because he was in his seventies.
And that's a reasonable assumption on your part, but Scott and the boys -- particularly since they've been working so hard to make sure the guy is ok that they couldn't squeeze out a press release -- know better.
Of course, its fortunate I do not work on the whitehouse staff. They'd have to keep chasing me out of camera range.

Back to work after spending a long weekend at con. So far, I really don't want to be here.
The convention was a lot of fun, but exhausting due to little sleep. Drank a bit too much, met some new people and we continued our winning streak for a third year by nabbing Best Party for our Kimono Party. (The Con's theme this year was University of Fandom, so sticking to our Firefly-roots, we did things with an asian twist and had a Kimono Party instead of a toga party. It turned out really well.)

It’s true that pen-raised quail are not domesticated. It’s also true that Texas has an appalling and disgraceful tradition of canned hunts on game farms. If you are clumsy, unskilled, inattentive, and stupid, you can still get a “trophy” kill in Texas. It’s a simulation of hunting, and the people who do it should stick to video games rather than pretending that they are doing something real.
There is nothing wrong with wildlife management that includes hatcheries and other methods for increasing the population of particular species. But the practices allowed in Texas should disgust any real hunter.
