It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

NASA's IG is under investigation,

Wot's IG?

It's possible that the big bang is not really a concern of the administration, but this guy Deutsch-- whose decision-making skills can be fairly questioned at this point-- went too far in doing what he thinks would please the Executive.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Wot's IG?

That would be NASA's Iggy Pop clone.

Or possibly the Inspector General.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I like to compare them to the Warren Gamaliel Harding administration, because I can then reference H.L. Mencken's firebreathing essays about Harding's corruption and incompetence.

But many ID people disagree with the big bang too.

Maybe they go for M-theory cosmology with the idea of colliding four dimensional membranes in eleven dimensional space. (I apologize if I just butchered the actual theory, but I don't know much about it)

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I think the ID people have wisely concentrated their efforts on proving all of biology wrong, before taking the larger step of proving all of geology and cosmology wrong.

It's important to take these things one step at a time, and not bite off more than you can chew.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Please, how hard is that to wank?

"And God said let there be light, and BANG!, there was light."

What, scripture can't have sound effects?

That was kinda what I thought, a big bang gives a moment of creation. I still assert that the theory of gravity would be more problematic unless you are a calvinist.

David got it.

Basically the guy who you were supposed to go to when you had safety concerns , say like malfunctioning shuttle parts, and he was supposed to head up an investigation? Has been accused of squashing investigations, retaliating against whistleblowers, etc.

No previous experience in audits, but hey! he was an ethics lawyer for the White House General Counsel during this admin!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

But seriously, there are those on the religious right who want all science to be bible-based.

I'll dig up some cites when I get a spare moment....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I understand the urge to do anything, including lie, to rise to great heights. It's the idea that you're not going to be looked at closely that boggles me. Subtler lies, people!

Missed the latte. Was late in fact. Fires somewhere and tremendously crap traffic.
