I remember where I was when Reagan was shot, Challenger exploded, Rabin was shot, and 9/11.
Reagan yes (only vaguely), Pope no, Lennon no, Challenger yes, Rabin yes, Sadat no. Stuff that happened when I was in college and beyond, yeah.
The Loma Prieta quake in 1989 was the first earthquake I remember knowing about. Like, I'd heard of such things, but I'd never seen the outcome live on television. That and Pan Am 103 were the same year, right? I turned 14 that year.
I do remember afterwards all the adults saying that this would be our "Where were you when Kennedy was shot?" moment, but I have to say that 9/11 sort of blew that right out of the water.
Um, yeah.

I'm pretty sure that reading of the law had been debunked.

Here's an explaination: [link]
I love the idea of fighting to defend someone's right to be annoying anonymously.
It's all in the hands of the krav people now. They have my letter saying I understand the training risks, and my doctor's letter about what the risks are.
And, dear lord, after watching my instructor group train yesterday, I'd bloody well better be fully reinstated.
Unrelatedly, co-worker is sighing like it's the end of the world, rubbing her face heavily and muttering "Oh, god, oh god." Sometimes she walks away from her cube and regards it with horror from afar.
Yet, not going to ask. She's been doing this for a couple weeks now.
For a couple of weeks?
In that case, it's either something catastrophic and terrible, or it's just the way she reacts to, um, email.
it's either something catastrophic and terrible, or it's just the way she reacts to, um, email.
If the former, she's very strong for holding up under the horrible strain for so long.
I suspect the latter.
And the saddest part? The main reason for not inquiring is fear of the latter. (Or at least it would be for me.)

Same here. If I thought it were important -- well, I've had a ton of opportunities.
I grossed out my instructor group with my missing knuckles. For reasons that are probably not worthy of mention, I kept punching during that cardio boxing class after the skin started to tear. To my defense, I started punching lighter. But the bag's not supposed to wrap like that, to mess up my lower knuckles. And the surface was nasty plastic. I didn't expect this much damage. Indefensibly I punched a few targets while teaching the day after--only diving for bandaids when I realised I was mucking them up.
The bandaids were just no good, so I tried some Activ Flex which worked great except I couldn't get it to stay on the knuckles for more than 24 hours. But they're in much better condition know. Ungrabbable, but it's a start.
I'd say I hope there's not much punching in the test, but, hey, krav. I will bandage beforehand and wear the large gloves.
Timelies all!
I was in my Mammalian Physiology class when Challenger happened. I remember the teacher listening to the launch on his radio.
9/11 I was at work.(and then was sent home since we're a Federal site)
