Loved the Wendy storyline. It kept surprising me and had a nice noirish twist of the knife at the end.
Knew they were going to get back to Nish and Co. eventually, although I really don't buy that Nish killed the dean. Also? Keith is more recognizable than he thinks he is.
Not so cool on the whole Madison Sinclair return. Also, if the trailer's not misleading, I'm not hip on where they're going.
Also, don't much like plot points that depend on Veronica or Keith being stupid. They're both a little foolhardy, and prone to taking risks, but they're not dumb. Bribing a judge? No. I don't buy that she'd go there. (Although I'd buy that she'd keep that information to use at a later date, when more was on the line.) Also, I don't buy Keith impersonating an officer. He's not above bending some rules, but that one could too-easily mess up a case. Although the look on Lamb's face was priceless.
I thought that the blackmail was odd too. Also, how can anyone trust anything that Madison says? (Although, I was not paying as much attention as I should have been and will be re-watching post-Buffy.)
A) Agree about the judge, or at least that you don't make getting the money that simple. My only explanation would be that she was in a hurry, but even then, when has she ever not been patient about vengance?
B) If Logan did that with Madison? Ugh. You would think, "Hey, if we break up, and you want me to think you're not a complete ass? Please don't sleep with my worst enemy/best friend/close relative.." would ever be something you'd actually have to say.
Thanks, Simon (and thanks for hooking Michael up, too).
I really felt sorry for Wendy, near the end, there -- which was a huge surprise (the feeling sorry for her, that is).
I can absolutely believe (even beside what we saw last week) that Logan hooked up (a lot, even) after he broke up with Veronica. Why wouldn't he? He broke up with her, because he thought they were just going to end up hurting each other. It's not like she dumped him, and he was trying to win her back. That said, I am surprised he'd hook up with Madison.
I can't believe Veronica blackmailed a judge, though, particularly over such a small case, where the judge wasn't actively trying to harm her client. When Logan thinks you're being reckless -- maybe it's time to take a step back. Weird. I could believe Keith in the uniform, though.
I can't decide if there is a reason Veronica is taking this sort of risk, or if the writers are just not that into having the stories be character driven.
I just read through that Whedonesque thread, and it kind of cracks me up how upset people still are about Keith sleeping with Harmony. He also broke it off, for crying out loud. Are characters supposed to always be morally perfect, now? The guy is in his forties. He was abandoned by his wife, and dumped by his last girlfriend. He's alone most of the time. A beautiful woman makes it clearly known that she wants him.
Is the moral outrage in the fanbase funny to anyone else, or just me? I mean, I found Keith's stumble understandable and sympathetic, and to me, it seemed the important point was not that Keith stumbled, but that he picked himself back up.
I watched Buffy after Veronica Mars.
Actually, I thought it held together much better on rewatch and I would so not trust anything Madison said.
Although, I don't understand why they are writing Keith so stupid.
Okay, if Mrs. O'Dell murdered her husband -- did she hire Keith because she thinks he's incompetent? Does that mean that she hasn't read his book?
post-Buffy???
The ongoing watch-and-post rewatch of Buffy and Angel (once they're at that point) that I keep missing.
grumble grumble
I think it was THE DARK AGES last night.
Heh, x-post, natch.
