You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm no statistician, but I'm pretty sure number of lines per episode is not a good way to evaluate Oz's contribution to an ep's quality.

Not surprising that Dru wins this one, though.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can't get over how confused correlation and causation are in that very premise.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I can't get over how confused correlation and causation are in that very premise.

That sounds so much nicer than my reaction of, "What the everloving fuck?" Some interesting bits and some where statistics were clearly telling lies.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Mark finally talks about Drusilla in his review of Lie to Me :

I’m not quite sure how I feel about her character just yet. She does get more depth in this episode, but even that is only told to us by Angel; all we know is that his horrific actions caused her to lose a grip on reality. It does feel weird to me that this is the only aspect to define at this point. She’s strange and awkward, and now we learn it’s all Angel’s fault.

I guess "break with reality" is as close to crazy as he is going to get to describe her. I don't get not loving her right from the very first second, and I have never thought to use the word "awkward" to describe her.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

and I have never thought to use the word "awkward" to describe her.

Dru is not awkward. She's mad as a box of frogs, but graceful.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Willow is awkward. Xander is awkward.

Not Dru.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

So, if he ever gets to see it, do you think Mark will enjoy the "The Awkward Woman of Chaillot"?

Always Anti-fascist!

he feels awkward about her cause he expects to have Earth logic. She is not awkward in herself;

Lose a grip with reality? Oh, okay. Code for psychotic break. Really gentle, excusing of Angelus code, but apparently that's the good alternative?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh my God, Mark's review of "The Dark Age" is so funny and sad. He is so completely and utterly unprepared for Jenny's death.

He seems to have captured Joss's mindset, though.
