Also, what should we call the phenomenon of seeing the video for said earwormed song in your mind's eye? Mindwormed?
I brought this whole issue up b/c Chatty is playing 80s music, and we keep saying "Oh my god, I remember this video!"
Buffy ,'Showtime'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

God help me. Mine is a wasted life highlighted in a pop song.
Which reminds me this seems like a very buffista book, or a very Hec book anyway.
In popstrological terms, Britney Spears is a "daughter" of Olivia Newton-John, born under the 1981 hit song "Let's Get Physical."
Host Jennifer Ludden finds out how pop music's powerful forces affect us all from the day we're born. She talks with Ian Van Tuyl, author of Popstrology: The Art and Science of Reading the Popstars. For his part, Van Tuyl is a Double Monkee, as his book explains, "born under the influence of the song 'I'm a Believer.'"
Quote about the above linked book from ATC
Oooh. Oooh!
People who need to be painfully killed. My favorite!!
Today's list includes bed and breakfast guests who decide to cancel a 6 day stay that I could have sold over 7 or 8 times to reasonably sane people because...ready?...one of them has jet lag.
Whah? Flying from Germany made you tired? No effing way! So this means you need to screw my establishment out of more than a grand (on a room I already gave them a discount on...the ingrates) for why?
Oh! You have fibromyalgia.
I'm still confused...
Gah. Most travelers are fairly cool. Some are wonderful. Today? I got Fellini's crew.
However, hearing Muzak versions of Duran Duran and Cyndi Lauper still freaks me out.
Before she retired, my mother had an argument with her building manager about playing Muzak. As she told the story, she said, "My girls have those records, and they're real songs. You should just play them."
So you're still open, Beej?
I heard the Popstrology dude on NPR and I havtasay. Sounded pretty woolie to me. And I'm the type that has no reservations about people finding inspiration in weird things.
The thesis...that the collective unconscious had to be effected by stuff like the Beatles phenom...and therefore infused certain personalities with certain characteristics sounds interesting on the surface...but unless he goes into much greater detail, the author sounds like a guy whose book really ought to be one sentence. "I'm the Beatle's bitch."
What do you all think of this lampshade? [link] Or, more importantly, what do we think Emily will think of this lampshade?
However, hearing Muzak versions of Duran Duran and Cyndi Lauper still freaks me out.
Weirdest Muzak version I ever heard? Kenny G. Because -- WHY?!?
I was once in a store that was playing a dance remixed version of the South Pacific soundtrack. It was the most brilliant thing I'd ever heard.
I have a strange fondness for Muzak. I like weird covers of songs, and sometimes Muzak hits the right surreal bizarreness for me. (eta: I love the lampshade and cannot imagine Emily objecting to it)
