I like Vin, but stopped watching Boiler Room after 20 minutes despite the lure of Scott Caan's ass in a simulated sex scene later in the movie. Apparently I can only stomach watching stockbroker types if there's a good chance that Christian Bale is going to dismember them later on.
But! But! Giovanni Ribisi and Nia Long!!
Not to mention Ben Affleck trying sooooo hard to do Alec Baldwin's Glengary Glen Ross speech. So fun to watch.
I seriously do adore that movie. But here's the interesting thing about Vin on Letterman -- he's talking about his age like crazy -- that he was 30 years old before he did anything in Hollywood. I wonder if it's part of trying to be taken more seriously or something?

He might be trying to make a point about the perceived ageism in Hollywood. If he is, that gives me hope, because I frequently feel I'm waaaay to old to be trying to get a start in this business.
Has it been mentioned that Baz Lurhmann's version of Alexander the Great is back on the drawing boards? It was shelved b/c of Stone's version but since that sucked so mightily, they've decided to revive Baz's attempt.
re Ultraviolet; there was an aborted attempt to remake it in the US. A pilot was shot but never screened. Elba was brought over to reprise his character from the cancelled UK version.

I just watched a movie called "Dear Frankie." It was good, and I liked it, though I had a few issues with some things. One thing I had no issue with was Gerard Butler. I just wanted to hug him and not let go.
