Didja know that Jay Landsman is the real-life cop upon whom Richard Beltzer's character on Homicide is based? And that the real-life Jay Landsman does not play "Jay Landsman" on The Wire, but Bunny Colvin's Deputy Major Mello?

Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Also, a good chunk of the cast, including West, are British actors. Which makes West's bad British accent from Season Two even funnier.
I did not know that Landsman played such a big part in the Munchkin. Not like a shocker, though.( Watching both of them is like spotting long-lost family members for me, though. What's that about?!) Total mispocheh. There may be stuff wrong with me. And I guess I won't write the next "Bridget Jones" after all.

This is why I can't stand West. I can tell his American accent is fake, and it's hella distracting.

Erika, embrace your inner hard ass. I mean, David Simon is basically a nice Jewish writer guy and found he just had some kind of ear for cops and dealers and junkies. I think you have that too--and it's no odder with you than with him. It's not something wrong with you, it's something right...and interesting.
