Watching The Saint on BBC America (as we do in this department when Oprah's a repeat), it occurs to me that both Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan came to be Bond after essentially playing him on TV. Is anyone on MI-5 suave and 30-ish? Are there any other British spy shows out there right now?

I think the problem here is that these people are the worst spies evar. Also, I don't think the big movie franchise could get nearly as much Heroic Suffering mileage out of them as a TV series can. Generally speaking, I don't think big movie franchises get anything out of suffering, except what they put their audiences through.
