I just wanna say that the first five minutes of the series premier of Enterprise just cracked me up. A bunch of evil aliens chasing a Klingon through a cornfield in Iowa (or wherever).
Too bad everything after did nothing for me.
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Right, right. See, I actually liked the God-works-in-mysterious-ways stuff, cause I've always been into that sort of trope. I overlooked the water issue.
The aliens were allergic to water. Which they hadn't thought of before invading the planet covered in water inhabited by creatures made up largely of water where it rains all the time.
Maybe they didn't know water would melt them like the Wicked Witch of the West.
Besides, it's not like they went to earth for the fishing.
That spoiler is the funniest thing I've read in a long time! Ha! Excellent. How is Charlton Heston not involved with this movie?
I think the Signs aliens and the aliens from V need to have a death-match. Or at least convene to work out who gets the water-planets, and who gets teh dry-planets.
What was that movie and TV series that had the bald-headed aliens that had the blotches on their heads? Becase those aliens could be killed by water too (at least in the movie). Or maybe it was just saltwater?
Triffids could be killed by salt water. But they're not bald, blotchey headed or headed at all. They're plants.

Alien Nation, and yeah, it was just saltwater if I remember correctly.
Brings a whole new dimension to "wounded by her tears."
Oh, Jim, thank you so much for the spoilage. My Friday is much more cheerful now.
