And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

According to DH, Joss was really, really reluctant to give details on what exactly had been changed from the original plan. (And since most of the journalists on the conference call were unspoiled, he couldn't ask anything as specific as "Were you always going to kill Wesley?")

I wonder if he'd be more forthcoming now that it's aired.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

the good guys still have to act morally better than the bad guys, or else there's no real difference at all.

Are they talking about the good guy that killed Drogan and ordered Lorne to kill Lindsey, after lying to him? That good guy? The one who got a hero's sendoff anyway?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Well, this was total crap

Wow. I've seen some weird shit/causes laid at Buffy's feet over the interbunny, but a role model for Smirky's middle east policy is a new one.

It's like when I go peruse the politcs/White House boards over at TT for sick thrills. I've seen people on the left so rigid that they are just another bunch of hate and fear mongers who are just as bad as Rush and his dildoheads.

Um.

Well, this was total crap

Don't mind the eye. It's a Toronto listings rag whose writers like to think they're cooler than the other kids.

edit context is good, writers write, papers publish

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

In other words, the heroes of Firefly kind of came off like jihadists fighting American imperialism, for good or ill.

Um. Yeah, right.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Notably the author of that piece had reams of published articles going back a few years. Every single one of them was on music, none on any other kind of media interpretation (based on my quick scan).

But we all know it's a stupidly unsupported argument and shouldn't be given the time of day. (I don't think I've heard "in other words" and related segues so poorly used in my life.)

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

But we all know it's a stupidly unsupported argument and shouldn't be given the time of day.

Unless one wants to throw rocks at the stupid. And I'm in need of exercise, so, there's that.

I've lived to bury my desires,/And see my dreams corrode with rust;/Now all that left are fruitless fires/That burn my empty heart to dust.

My favorite was:

Whedon's final message is clear: the ends don't justify the means.

Was the author of that dreck awake during the last two episodes?

I try to love my neighbor as myself. Unfortunately, I have a lot of self-loathing.

I've seen several comments that the finale of Angel could lead into the "Fray" universe. Unfortunately I never read the comics, and a quick Googling turned up only half a dozen not very useful websites.

I guess I'll spoiler this in case Fray counts a spoiler material: I get that Melaka Fray is a Slayer in the 26th century and that something's happened to most of the vampire/demon population, but is there anything more about this universe I should know to see the tie-ins? I know the Fray axe appeared in Chosen.

What else of import was shown/revealed/hinted at in the comics?
