Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

It's obvious that Spike survives the coming fight.

Enough with the HoYay already!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Cindy, a few hundred posts ago, you asked if I was going to be in your area for a few days. I am not, since I am now in Baltimore at Anne's. I am sorry I missed you.

I skipped all of the posts since this morning, so sorry if this was already discussed. DebetEsse and I were talking on the way down, and we both sort of wondered if one of the reasons for the Illyria story line is so that AA could take part in the final fight. Even though Fred was large with the traps and the fun decapitation machines, they didn't usually have her taking part in the hand to hand fighting.

What do other people think?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Hi all. As usual, I one of the last USA-folk to chime in on the ep, so I don't really have much to add.

Very bummed that Wes is dead. I know it was kind of inevitable, given all that's happened, but you can't blame me for hoping, can you?

I had heard that Joss was not planning to change the finale once the cancellation order came down. I wonder if that's true, since I can't see a season 6 with the line-up of Angel, Spike, Illyria and possibly Gunn. I'm not sure I'd want to watch it.

I just realized that with the end of Angel, I no longer have any shows I'm interested in on a more-than-superficial level. Ah, well...

According to this story, joss may have changed the finale a bit once the show was cancelled:

"After the cancellation, there were some hurt feelings among the cast and crew that manifested itself in the finale.

"'We put a lot of that heartbreak into the script, into the show, so it would hurt as much to watch as it did to have it taken away from us,' Whedon said. `I would not have been as brutal about the ending had we had another season.'"

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jessica's husband's article more than implies that Joss wanted to transmit the pain of cancellation to his audience. I wonder if we'll ever find out how that went down, exactly.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Well, this was total crap.

They killed Scruffy!Wesley! The Bastards!!!

Seriously, I do wonder if Wes would have been killed off if the show were returning for a 6th season.
