Always Anti-fascist!

No.(And it causes me physical fucking injury, um, okay, *another* one, to admit that of a series with FrankenTim, the Munchkin, and Kay in it.) But it it totally true...broader canvas. Politics...no black-hat bad guys. Very little censoring...what are they gonna do next year, with the FCC sure to get a hard-on for them? So to speak. In cop talk, if you attack somebody personally like they might, you have a hard-on for them if you make busting them your mission. Very jealous of the Braugher encounter, but I would think I would say something smart and probably look like a dumbass. To meet the new language standards, Jimmy goes aphasic. I saw DW in something PG-13 once and it felt like that anyways without "Fuck *me*" and stuff. They did have a whole scene composed of "Fuck." and "Motherfucker" once. Because Simon's idol on BPD said one day cops will have their own language of just those words.

  • Freaks and Geeks
  • Buffy Seasons Two and Three (and most of Four)
  • The Singing Detective

Wait, wouldn't that make your "partner" L.Q. Jones rather than Jack Elam?

Yeah, but Elam's funnier looking. And L.Q. Jones is just a yellow-bellied redneck peckerwood, anyway.

Yeah, but COFFERNTC4EVA!!!!

On a serious note, I agree with all of your list I'm familiar with (including the specific Buffy seasons, though I prefer Angel 2 to 4). I'd have to have Monty Python's Flying Circus in there somewhere, since you aren't excluding British shows. Probably at least one of the Futurama seasons, if not more, and also I'd have to have Firefly despite the premature demise. Oh, and Farscape 2 and 3, not to mention DS9 somewhere.

Damn, and Twin Peaks despite the wheels coming off.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Let's see some more lists.

  • Prime Suspect 1
  • Sopranos
  • Pee Wee's Playhouse
  • Mary Tyler Moore Show
  • Buffy S1-4
  • Fawlty Towers
  • Monty Python's Flying Circus
  • Northern Exposure (first 3 or 4 seasons)
  • Simpsons (S2-5)
  • Freaks and Geeks
  • Firefly
  • Singing Detective (as I've noted ad nauseum, I saw the whole thing originally in a movie theater).

I'm only through the first box set of Homicide so I don't feel qualified to rank it yet. Still haven't seen The Wire or Deadwood, though I'll get to it. I'm waffling on Wonderfalls. It's a very strong 13 ep run, but in some ways I prefer Dead Like Me, even though it's less consistent. Angel S2 probably belongs on the list, but to be honest I'm a much bigger Buffy and Firefly fan. Also, I think Angel had incredibly inconsistent seasons and only in S2 did it really have an unqualified run of greatness.

Hill Street Blues, until Esterhaus died

Ooh, good call.

Also I need...

  • Farscape S1-3 (plus mini) on the list.

Probably at least one of the Futurama seasons

Damn, and Twin Peaks despite the wheels coming off.

Shit! Yeah, Futurama and Twin Peaks would rank for me.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

This is the music thread, right?

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Sports Night.
