There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Just a bit got cut off:

seemed to close the book on the Wildhearts' career. But, though he tried to start from scratch a few years later with new group Silver Ginger 5, Ginger eventually reunited the "classic" Wildhearts lineup once again in early 2001.

Man.

Punishingly Intricate

Thanks, Tina! My band is playing with them here in Baltimore in March. I'm trying to gather information about them to pass on to folks on our list to motivate them to come out to the show. It's on a Wednesday night.

They just released (or are about to release) a new record on Gearhead and it got a very good review in the latest Spin. And, I think, they're touring with the Darkness in Europe now. And then they're touring with the Dragons here. Which is why I asked...er...begged the club to get my band on the bill for the night. The Dragons are one of my most favorite bands in the world ever! I'm kind of very nervous about playing with them.

Sounds like it could be a memorable evening.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Was it here that someone was talking about the new Jay-Z/Danger Mouse CD called "The Grey Album"?

There's been a cease and desist issued, but you can download it here or here.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Huh - I was thinking about talking about it here because the local paper gave it a rave review. Better get it while it's hot. That Negativland boot goes for beaucoup bucks these days.

Wow. I have to say that was a kickass instrumental backing track they rigged out of "Helter Skelter" samples.

And with Valentine's-Day-appropriate lyrics to boot!

I mentioned that RS loved it (it was in the 40th Beatles Anniv. issue). Thanks for the links - tracks #3, 5 and #8 are great.
