Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Damn! They have one of their albums (with "Houston" and "Manhattan" on it but no "Omaha"). I now owe myself $10.

Yeah, that's the new one, and it's also really good. It's different from the first one; there's more focus on lyrical content, and it's a little less frenetic. "Houston" is very nice, and if you want to try out a few tracks, I also recommend "Beauty Deluxe" and "A Viewing." I also think music aficionados would appreciate "Crush on Radio."

They're great. French Canadian Garage Punk. WMBR has played them lots. Some mp3's, and a link to buy their CD, is here: [link]

Are you ready to be strong?

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

I had not known that your show was Podcasted, Jon! Now I gotta get on that crazy podcast train!!

Andrew Bird shows up on a bunch of Chicago alt-country stuff other than his own -- he plays on the Handsome Family's "Up Falling Rock Hill," and his violin playing totally makes the song.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I'd like to apologize for the high-pitched "SQUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" that some of you may have sensed. Bauhaus are re-forming. A new album and world tour are planned for next year.

In related news, I just ripped the David J collection with the old V for Vendetta stuff on it for you. It'll be included with the Glam, Neo-Glam and Dark Cabaret stuff (with Hannah Fury).

A co-worker gave me half the album and I desperately want the other half. Thanks, Jon.

I am enjoying the The Swimming Hour and this weekend I heard a lot of guys who went to highschool with him talking about what a band nerd he used to be but how all along they kind of knew he was going to be a rock star, albeit a bit of an eccentric one.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I've been sitting on the knowledge that he's playing Austin for about 3 weeks, so I'm ecstatic that it's all out in the open, 'cause I hate keeping big secrets.
