I'd like to apologize for the high-pitched "SQUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" that some of you may have sensed. Bauhaus are re-forming. A new album and world tour are planned for next year.
In related news, I just ripped the David J collection with the old V for Vendetta stuff on it for you. It'll be included with the Glam, Neo-Glam and Dark Cabaret stuff (with Hannah Fury).
They're great. French Canadian Garage Punk. WMBR has played them lots. Some mp3's, and a link to buy their CD:
A co-worker gave me half the album and I desperately want the other half. Thanks, Jon.
Andrew Bird shows up on a bunch of Chicago alt-country stuff other than his own -- he plays on the Handsome Family's "Up Falling Rock Hill," and his violin playing totally makes the song.
I am enjoying the
The Swimming Hour
and this weekend I heard a lot of guys who went to highschool with him talking about what a band nerd he used to be but how all along they kind of knew he was going to be a rock star, albeit a bit of an eccentric one.
Hey Corwood -- I assume you know about the US Jandek shows? [link]

and David - they have a song for a new Merry Fucking xmas collection
For those of you who are both Elfman fans and enjoyed the new Charlie and Chocolate Factory, the version of the album for sale through iTunes includes three exclusive bonus tracks. They are remixes that seem to be quite fun, just grabbed the album.
I saw the Posies the night before last. The venue was tiny, the band had to walk along the seats beside our table to get off the stage, which made the whole encore thing a bit of a labour. But they were great. Occasionally shirtless and great.
I saw 'em open for the Replacements in 1990, and they were pretty good then. I also saw two of 'em with Big Star.
Word is that the new Big Star album sucks big time: [link]
Oh, help.
My iTunes (with the iPod plugged in) is playing all the songs too fast, and therefore up several pitches. It's really annoying.
I unplugged the iPod and listened to a few songs through just the pod, and it was fine.
Has anyone had this happen?
