Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Rumour is, this is the murderess: [link]

(at least one Chicago TV station showed a cropped version of this photo)

Art Crawl!!!

Okay, so why drive into another car? WHy not park on the train tracks? Or drive into the lake?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

That happened just a couple miles down the road from where the first F2F was held.

If I only had a brain...

WHy not park on the train tracks?

Because it really, really sucks for the train driver.

This is a really horrible story. Three Chicago musicians dead in car crash

So horrible. People (who clearly knew the guys who were killed) were talking about it at the music festival I went to yesterday. And there was a "plea for forgiveness" from the girl who hit them in the paper this morning. My mind simply can't get around the idea that she knew she was going to injure or kill a few random innocent people in her quest to kill herself and just didn't care. ___________________________

To change tones dramatically, the two-day music fest that Pitchfork put on this weekend was HOT but really good, well organized and well attended. I just went and purchased my first Andrew Bird CD after seeing him early in the line up yesterday.

The Wrens were good but no matter how close I got to the stage the sound was awful. Thankfully, the sound was much better for the Decemberists who were fun, energetic and fully worshipped by the adoring crowd.

ETA:

Hey Tina, I found my Illinoise and it's gorgeous. Reminds me in places of Elliot Smith and Yoshimi, but also Elephant 6 stuff.

Isn't it though? I was pitching it to EVERYONE this weekend.

Art Crawl!!!

She could have driven her car into the side of a nice solid building. . . or you know the side of a rairroad underpass. . . those are usually pretty sturdy.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

What I want to know is, she's a model and couldn't score enough drugs to OD? What's up with that?

What a horrible thing.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Cindy just posted this over in Natter.

You may want to put sharp objects away so you're not tempted to jab them in your eyes.
