Angel: Yeah, I never told anyone about this, but I-I liked your poems. Spike: You like Barry Manilow.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Jon, that's a lovely article, and it a) makes me sad that I wasn't there for the concert, and b) want to go find out more about Phillis Wheatley right now.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yay for FAQ!Wife. I eagerly await the conflict of interest when she reviews a Lothars show.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Betsy, if you are still looking for New Orleans music, check out the Subdudes. "Primitive Streak" is a good album, but give all of them a listen on Amazon. I think you'll like them.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Betsy, if you are still looking for New Orleans music

I just remembered another NOLA act! The Cold was a New Wave band, very popular locally during the very early '80s.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

I eagerly await the conflict of interest when she reviews a Lothars show.

"And last, but certainly not least, theremin player Jon Bernhardt creates magic with his hands. A deeply, deeply satisfying experience. I would recommend it to everyone... except that he's MINE! So stay the fuck away!"

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Jeez, Joe, you make her sound like Anya! (note to self: ask FAQ Wife her opinion on bunnies)

NY Times has an article on the Inntonation Festival that I went to this weekend. I had no idea 15,000 people went (over two days) or that some Pitchfork reviewers make $17 per review!

Be sure to go down to the slide show feature to see a lovely pic of Petra Haden.
