Pretty simple equations, though. Vigilante justice = never a good thing outside of fiction. Lynching in the South = usually associated with race murder, although perhaps Willie & Toby were lamenting their inability to string horse thieves up. Either way, given the timing of the song, I took it as unadulterated support of our Bozo-in-Chief's decision to invade Iraq. Personally, I just hate to hear Austin's own longhaired, pot-smoking elder statesman of cosmic cowboyhood espouse a pro-war/anti-social justice philosophy.
