The owner of that bar is the sister of a coworker! Small world. Do you do their pub quiz nights?
Just back from seeing the Old 97s -- msbelle, Murry made a point of making sure I told you he said howdy. (He did in fact get the whole audience to say "y'all" and then said "I'm gonna tell everyone back home about that one.") Ken Bethea has taken some sort of inexplicable mid-career huge stride as a guitar player, and is now rocking out exponentially more. Made the whole show more intense, and a lot of fun.
Why, Paul? Why?
That album was playing the last time I was in Barnes & Noble. It's better than it should be.

OMG do you remember the video for it? With Bonnie Tyler as the school marm obsesssed with the teenaged boys with glowing eyes? CREEEEPEEEE
I did a cover of it recently for this 80s night thing. The lyrics are just so, so, so bad.
That is one of my favorite videos ever, ever. It's like early age of video "what cool shit have we ever wanted to film" thrown together with shots of Bonnie Tyler wailing.
It's super craxy crazy. My friend who accompanied me on the song found it in an old collection of videos he'd taped off of the tv many, many years ago.
The Downward Spiral, the perfect album to crank while you're tossing live hamsters into a blender.
I am in love with this. Too many people overlook appropriate musical accomaniment to the torture and mutilation of small mammals.
Also, I am listening to the Johnny Cash version of "Hurt"
