And the thing is, I like my evil like I like my men: evil. You know, straight up, black hat, tied to the train tracks, soon my electro-ray will destroy metropolis BAD.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Frail my heart apart and play me a little Shady Grove

The Downward Spiral, the perfect album to crank while you're tossing live hamsters into a blender.

I am in love with this. Too many people overlook appropriate musical accomaniment to the torture and mutilation of small mammals.

Also, I am listening to the Johnny Cash version of "Hurt" right now, AIFG.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

A few S-K highlights:

  • Played
One More Hour, which is one of my fave S-K songs and I've never seen them play it live.
  • Covered Danzig's
Mother. It fucking rocked.
  • Played my faves off the new record both nights (
The Fox, Jumpers, Entertain ). Opened with The Fox both nights and it was amazing.
  • Loved seeing Carrie lose her shit during Entertain and Jumpers. Corin always loses her shit, which I love, but to see Carrie do it was cool indeed.
  • Corin wore jeans! Hehehehehehe
  • Now I have to say something nice about Janet, which ain't hard. She beat the shit out of those drums and sang and was just incredible as usual.

# Covered Danzig's Mother. It fucking rocked.

Whoa. Really want this bootleg.

Truly you do. And if you find it, remember your old pal here.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

I am in Boston (with no hope of Free Time, sadly) but I got to run into Newbury Comix tonight and thought fondly of all you people who always talk about the cool stuff they buy there.

I bought two Smiths CDs.

I bought Husker Du's cover of 8 Miles High at Newbury! (Well, okay, the Cambridge one, cuz that's where I did all my shopping. Also bought my George of the Jungle t-shirt there.)

I bought two Smiths CDs.

Which two? I'm guessing Strangeways is one of them.

You can hear me give a paper at the BU Sherman Union tomorrow at 9:35 a.m. I know, HUGE THRILL.

OH! I was on a bus tour of the Great Libraries of Boston today as part of my conference and saw the Miniature Books exhibit and thought of you and FAQ Girl ...

Awwww.

We're going to sleep now (long day), but if one doesn't need a badge to get into the hall, we just might see you there!

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

msbelle -- yes, of course, and no, respectively.

I am listening to the new Hold Steady album today, as "Your Little Hoodrat Friend" is too catchy to resist. I wince that they have to issue press releases saying, no, we're not into this sound ironically, but good for them for doing so. Won't stop the hipsters, but what does?
