There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

It says on the site he's Dallas based and born in Omaha. Is that incorrect?

Up with the sun

The investigation of his death is still officially open, but most people agree it was a suicide.

The coroner's report on SmokingGun.com makes it look like the police think his girlfriend may either have done it or know something about it she isn't saying. But that may be the true crime buff in me talking.

From what I understand he was born in Omaha. I meant that he came out of the Portland music scene and he is usually referred to as a "Portland native."

My buddy Mark, the ultimate conspiracy theorist, is convinced that somehow Courtney Love did it....

Lyra Jane - did you get my mix yet? I'm getting worried...

Thanks again for formatting and putting up the liner notes.

Hrm. He just lived in Dallas for a while, or recorded here or what? See, I don't want to add him to the list if it's just one of those Dallas find-any-way-to-link-stuff-to-Big-D-we-can kind of thing, because it means I'll be wasting my time later.

Do you know anything about his time in Dallas? Thanks for the info. I'm afraid I'm coming off really badly this morning.

I'm afraid I'm coming off really badly this morning.

Not at all.

Lemme see what I can dig up.

really long bio

born in omaha - immed. moved to Dallas - moved to Portland at 12 (where his Dad lived).

That was kind of a fun little hunt actually - found some reviews and articles I hadn't seen before.

Actually looks like he was living in Dallas right up until he went to high school and Dallas is where he took his first music lessons and started drinking - which are both pretty significant, I guess.

I'm a bad skimmer.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

After watching the Grammys last night, I am even more convinced that every singer who insists on singing 500 notes instead of 1 should be shot. Or at least be given a time out. Christina Aguilera just massacred her own pretty little song.

Justin Timberlake: Bandleader! That rocked.

I was disappointed by Prince, but I think it was just because Beyonce was there. Why???

So did those Beatles tribute guys rehearse at all? Wrong chords, the drummer lost the beat, and Dave Matthews just should not sing that high.

Outkast, the White Stripes and the funk thing rocked very hard, however.

This was the only thing I saw on the Grammys last night and I had to flip the channel in about 15 seconds because I knew that it was making the baby Jesus cry.

Because I am evil and can't stand Jenniver Love and it is making everyone at work laugh - check this out: fire that stylist sweetie

Jennifer Hate Hewitt really, really needs to go away. Really.
