I hope you don't think that I just come over for the spells and everything. I mean, I really like just talking and hanging out with you and stuff.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Me too! Me too!!

(though I just skimmed and am not sure what I have to do - I have a highspeed connection, if that matters.)

I haven't heard the Arcade Fire though I have read 7 million articles about them. I have been listening to the Daniel Johnston cover/tribute album a ton lately (The Late Great Daniel Johnston I believe it is called). The Clem Snide and Beck songs are the bestest.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Add me to the mix, Hayden ... if there's still room.

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

Yeah, my love to Emmett too. Shall we add songs about baseball, too?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Shall we add songs about baseball, too?

Or perhaps songs about broken noses.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Shall we add songs about baseball, too?

With opening day less than a week away? Absolutely.

This should be the Talking Heads reunion album title.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

The list is: Jim, Lyra Jane, Steph, Alicia, Joe, Gandalfe, Sue, Lisah, Jon, DX, Tommyrot, DavidS, Tina, Evil Jimi, and me.

There's room for at least one more!

I say yes on baseball and broken noses being the topic du mix. We could call it Emmett Sounds (or some more clever variation thereof) and aim to come up with songs that would please the little guy. He's into pure pop for now people, right?

Hey, Tina! My friend Scott caught documentaries about both Daniel Johnston and Roky Erickson during SXSW. Some of the rest of y'all might find this interesting, too.

He's deeply into Prince right now. Emmett commentary on The Purple One:

"Who taught him how to be so good?!"

"I like it when he uses the funny voices."

on "When Doves Cry"... "That is one of the greatest songs ever."

"Is he playing the guitar too?"

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

"Is he playing the guitar too?"

Heh. Did you point out that in many cases, he's playing everything?
