I love "Reno Dakota."
Except fuck, it's one hell of an earworm.
'Lessons'
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I love "Reno Dakota."
Except fuck, it's one hell of an earworm.
Hecubus! WHEN is the Quimby's event?!
Reno Dakota - is that a play on Reno, Nevada? 'Cos that's a great gambling song. I'd go with the Iain Matthews version, or the Fairport Convention.
You know, I have never registered that Reno isn't in Dakota, although that's one of my favourite songs on the album.
Angus, did you get mine yet? I sent it almost a month ago.
Sorry LJ--yes I have received it thanks!
Mmmm, Jessica Harper.
Not only hot, but she can take out a coven of witches while barely breaking a sweat.
I am going to continue to post about the CD exchange status because it is really all hinked up and although I am willing to just step in the middle and do a work around, I don't want to.
I have sent several people emails to determine where we are stuck. If things are not moving by the beginning of next week, I'll start some work arounds and will post about them here.
Getting CDs to Australia is still a big issue. One option at this point might be for everyone on the list to duplicate their CD and send it directly to Angus. Would that work for everyone?
I have the new U2 album. I went (one whole block, but still) out of my way to get it before work.
I have not intentionally bought an album the day it was released since 1997.
This is a pretty freaking great CD. (So far -- I'm on track 5.) Mostly I just can't believe I like, own it and stuff.
Hecubus! WHEN is the Quimby's event?!
RIO! It's Saturday, December 4th. I'll be in Chicago that Thurs-Sat.
Lunch must happen! In no small part because I have a gift for your Chrismakkuh tree, and am making you a Chrismakkuh mix. (With songs like "A Lonely Jew on Christmas" and Jon Stewart's Christmas message, mocking every kid's xmas special ever, and Johnny Cash encouraging homicide. For Christmas. "You know it's not cool to kill for Christmas. But if you must...")
ETA: David, here's my contribution to Xmakkuh mix: http://thehound.net/19921219/ and http://thehound.net/19901222/. "Christmas in Jail" is a particular fave.
