Anything by Brecht
With the exception of Dirty Song:
If a woman's hips are ample
Then I want her in the hay
Skirt and stockings all a-rumple
(Cheerfully) - for that's my way
If the woman bites in pleasure
Then I wipe it clean with hay
My mouth and her lap together
(Thoroughly) - for that's my way
If the woman goes on loving
When I feel too tired to play
I smile and go off waving
(Amiably) - for that's my way
Ha! OK - ALMOST anything.
Guess what?
I get to spend the weekend picking the songs they'll playing on NPR for our interview.

Dickies. Play some Dickies.
Dickies. Play some Dickies.
In that genre alone, I'd be tempted to play the Descendents, Undertones or Buzzcocks first. However, none of them are in the book.
Still, "You Drive Me Ape You Big Gorilla" is well worth airplay.

No, we've had a hard time getting Amazon to update their stuff. It is - according to the publisher - already in the warehouse. Mine is somewhere in the mail at the moment.
Costello didn't even write it. It's a cover of Nick Lowe.
Surely if you're gonna have one Costello, it's Shipbuilding.
Robert Wyatt did a better version anyway. Didn't Costello write it for Wyatt? I seem to recall hearing that way back when.
Oooh. That reminds me, what about that "Ain't Gonna go to Sun City" song that had a lot of artists on it?
Oh yes. It had Peter Garrett too, now an MP in Australia's federal parliament.
The Anti-Sun City project was put together by "Little Steven" Van Zandt aka "Silvio Dante" from
The Sopranos
