Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

That's the kind of evil laughter I can support.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Dickies. Play some Dickies.

Dickies. Play some Dickies.

In that genre alone, I'd be tempted to play the Descendents, Undertones or Buzzcocks first. However, none of them are in the book.

Still, "You Drive Me Ape You Big Gorilla" is well worth airplay.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Hec, Amazon has something about Jan 30, 2005 on your book. Has the release date been pushed back?

Also, I was amused to note the following:

Customers who viewed this book also viewed: Bubblegum Music Is the Naked Truth by Kim Cooper, David Smay The Famous Flower of Serving Men by Deborah Grabien

Gotta be Buffistas.

No, we've had a hard time getting Amazon to update their stuff. It is - according to the publisher - already in the warehouse. Mine is somewhere in the mail at the moment.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Costello didn't even write it. It's a cover of Nick Lowe.

Surely if you're gonna have one Costello, it's Shipbuilding.

Robert Wyatt did a better version anyway. Didn't Costello write it for Wyatt? I seem to recall hearing that way back when.

Oooh. That reminds me, what about that "Ain't Gonna go to Sun City" song that had a lot of artists on it?

Oh yes. It had Peter Garrett too, now an MP in Australia's federal parliament.

The Anti-Sun City project was put together by "Little Steven" Van Zandt aka "Silvio Dante" from The Sopranos

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Jimi, I was talking about "What's So Funny About Peace, Love, and Understanding."

Silvio Dante

I... ain't gonna play Sun City...
Baddabing...
